Angular is a powerful open-source JavaScript framework based on TypeScript. Angular is built and maintained by dedicated Google engineers, and TypeScript is developed and maintained by Microsoft.

Angular is launched in 2009, initially under name AngularJS, however due to various imperfections it was rewritten soon after. Today, AngularJS refers to the 1.x versions of the framework, from 2.x it is known as Angular.

Unlike older AngularJS which was based on plain JavaScript, Angular makes use of TypeScript which is a strict syntactical superset of JavaScript, with optional static typing added to the language.

AngularJS is being used for a wide variety of Single Page Applications, ranging from hobby to commercial products. Adoption of AngularJS as a viable framework for client-side development is quickly becoming known to the entire web development community.
